Newsletter No. 4

September 2002

From the Chairman

Dear Members and Friends

Greetings to you all and a special welcome to those who have joined the Association since I last wrote. It is my hope that all who join will derive some benefit from membership - and that more of you will want to join.
Since our last reunion three successful 'year-group' reunions have been held. The Association can assist, if you want to run one, by providing contact lists and advice. Just 'phone the Secretary.
Margaret Cannell has been organising sailing events - now fully subscribed. If you are interested for the future please e-mail her at tama.ncsc@rya-online.net
Many thanks to those who returned the questionnaire earlier this year. One result of the information obtained is that the committee have decided to hold an Annual Dinner for members on the third Saturday in November. Then in 2005, which sees the 50th anniversary of the founding of the school, we intend to hold a Special Reunion which we hope hundreds of former staff and students will attend. By the way if you have not yet joined the Association, I hope you will. For how to - see here.
The next event is a ramble on September 14th - more information on the reverse and on the website.
It is with regret that I have to report the passing of two of my former colleagues, Sid Barber (Craft) and Francis Kapher (German). I'm sure many of you profited from their skills.
We have recently received one or two resignations from our committee - for the best of reasons - and we thank them for their service. Replacements will be needed, so if you can help, or persuade somebody else, the Secretary would love to hear from you.

Good wishes to you all
Ivor Harowven sig

Chairman
